The idea that right-wing extremists are inherently dangerous or violent has a long history in Britain. It is a myth which is still flourishing.
Seems that the enemy of all that is Right has ALWAYS been about the business of painting their enemy the color they want them to appear to those who can’t tell the difference between socialism and what is Right. If only those who believe in what is Right were willing to use the same tools and methods that the haters of Right are willing to use, there would be a marked difference in the world of today...but nice guys allow themselves to be trampled on without resorting to “mean tweets” and nothing changes. Not pretty but pretty simple.
1. The Labor Riots of the '20s - '30s The Communist Party.
2. The Reds in Germany during the latter part of WWI and during the Weimar Republic had roving gangs of violent agitators backed by Moscow. That's how the Nazis got into power - they were the only group that would counter Red violence with matching violence - and what did the Reds call themselves in Germany in those days? Antifa, as in "Anti Fascist". Exactly the same flag as today's "Antifa", coincidentally.
3.The Reds were happy to shelve the violence in the US before and during WWII because they were getting their way with the US government and the press but in the '50s they warmed up with the Communist Party USA "Ban the Bomb" movement - to ban the US nuclear arsenal (not the Soviets', of course). That nascent movement provided the organization for the "Anti - Vietnam War" movement, which of course, was the position of Hanoi, Moscow, and Beijing surprisingly. As the war escalated, so did their movement, carefully concealing its CP-USA directors and their foreign allegiances. Naturally, they became violent in a carefully orchestrated "actions" involving battles with the police, bombings at universities, military facilities, and the Pentagon. We all know how that turned out.
The violence of the last few years was the same cast of characters and with the same objectives: seize power, even if it means killing a few in the process and overthrow the United States while pretending not to.
The british empire was founded under an elitist monarchy, just like kingdoms around the world before it. They still have a monarchy that is elitist, though not as powerful. Today’s monarchies seem to be committees of elitests with an appointed ceos.
Monarchies can’t survive without a faithful second tier of rulers, governors, and military commanders.
Therefore, government by and for the people must be demonized.
I’ve noticed with my grandkids at a very young age almost a natural lie is to blame the other kid for what you did. Say one ate a off-limits piece of chocolate he then lies diametrically opposed to reality by saying “no susie did it”. Which is it seems exactly what the left does. For example after rioting under Trump for what…? 3 years in places like Portland and Milwaukee the leftist dominated MSM spend MONTHS of prime time TV going over and over and over the Jan 6 riot which killed no one, burned down no building and left peacefully (well a majority did on their own accord.
Chainmail I especially liked #3 as I’m a bit if a ww2 amateur historian. Yes the left is like water, they may shift directions, slow down, speed up and sometimes even temporarily reverse. But they always redirect towards their original goal and just keep up their relentless undermining and cutting out foundations of what was strong before. Michael Yon makes an interesting argument how we should have made an ally out of Japan in WW2 to counter communism even as brutal as the Japs were, of course that ignores Roosevelt and his commie ridden administration.
“… and what did the Reds call themselves in Germany in those days? Antifa, as in “Anti Fascist”. Exactly the same flag as today’s “Antifa”, coincidentally.…”

That history is correct. But the similar naming and flag are most definitely NOT a coincidence.
Birds of a feather if not the same people, that’s for sure. The same people are the ones indoctrinating & training them, without doubt though.
Some good history in your post.
Of course all need to remember there was only the “left” in the original handedness of political extremes. On the Left in the French Revolution was a known position — a radical revolutionary. The Red they came to be identified with was blood — the blood of the Swiss Guards shown on their white garments paraded into the session to show the protection of the Sovereign was killed.
Right came to be defined as anything against International Communism. The Communists were against the war in Europe until Hitler attacked Stalin. Then the Right was identified with Fascism.
We must remember that the first successful Fascist party was the Socialist Mussolini who enraged International Communists by being Nationalist and Catholic understanding that Italians would not abandon Italy or the Church.
Despite many differences now, Jonah Goldberg’s book on Fascism is great on the history.
Never forget the whole push against Trump and the Liberty movement came from a British spy with his governments blessing .
He does sort of have a point. But I’m not sure that Moseley’s movement was that innocent. If Britain had lost the war, those Blackshirts would have been in charge and it would not have been pretty.
It isn’t about right and left, it’s about right and wrong!
While that is correct it is instead too much of generality and ignores todays reality.
That is we are seeing the advance of the radical far left in the West. Not the right.
