A 25-year-old Tampa, Florida man was arrested Friday in connection to the death of a 1-month-old infant during "an unspeakable act" of child abuse.
On Thursday, Dec. 8, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office received a call from a local hospital after an unresponsive 1-month-old infant that arrived with upper body trauma. Despite doctor's lifesaving efforts, the baby died the following morning from the injuries.
The newborn's mother rushed the infant to the local Tampa hospital after she returned home from work and quickly realized that her child was unresponsive and seriously injured.
When interviewed by police, the mother told detectives that the infant was left in the care of her relative, Cortavius Thompson, while she was working and explained the last time she saw her child was during her lunch break, and there were no signs of injuries at that time.
When interviewed, Thompson told detectives that he was in the restroom when he heard the newborn crying from the adjacent room. According to a news release from the Sheriff’s Office, he said he noticed the injuries when he picked up the baby but said he "placed the infant in the bathtub in an attempt to wake the baby" while waiting for the child's mother to return.
The medical examiner’s office stated that the baby’s death could not have been accidental based on the injuries exhibited. The infant's death was ruled a homicide.

My first reaction to a story like this is to try and imagine an appropriate punishment, but until we bring back drawing and quartering or burning at the stake, vermin like this just need to be taken outside and shot like any other rabid animal.
Put him in the “General Population” in prison. They will kill him as he appeals his death sentence.

1. To hurt an innocent baby, to subject this child's mother to the unspeakable trauma of losing her miracle, to be so cruel and narcissistic that he would harm such an innocent soul likely because they were crying (which at that age is ALWAYS because of hunger, diaper, or true pain)... I would love to have a public stoning execution. I would fly there to have the chance to throw a rock!
2. It is because of people like him that innocent loving people are automatically treated like criminals when they lose their child. Despite the statistics of abuse being much less likely, stories like these are so tragic that it's always the assumption. Again I would auction my home, take loans, and beg for funding on a crowd sourcing site just to have the chance to participate in this man's stoning!
Screw him and all the other pos like him! Evil.. just pure evil!!!

I WENT STRAIGHT TO THE SCENE WITH MY MED GEAR AND THE RESCUE TRUCK GOT THERE MAYBE 10 MINUTES AFTER ME. ONE OF THE WORST EXPERIENCES I’VE EVER HAD. SIDS INFANT A FEW MONTHS OLD, PARENTS JUST SHORT OF INSANE WITH GRIEF AND BLIND HOPE, AND A NY STATE TROOPER COMES IN AND STARTS INVESTIGATING FOR CHILD ABUSE!!!
NOW, IN NYS, THE EMTS ARE THE HIGHEST RANKING AUTHORITY AT A MEDICAL EMERGENCY UNTIL A HIGHER TRAINED PERSON (DR.) TAKES CHARGE. COPS DO NOT CONTROL THE SCENE (AT LEAST THAT’S HOW IT WAS THEN). WE THREW THIS MORON SOB OUT OF THE HOUSE, BUT HE HAD, IN 30 SECONDS, REDUCED THE MOTHER TO AN INCOHERENT HYSTERICAL WRECK, AND MADE EVERYTHING UNBELIEVABLY WORSE FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED, ESPECIALLY THAT HEARTBROKEN MOTHER.

Surprise! It was obama’s son.
He heard the baby crying so he put it in the bathtub to wake it up? Even his lie makes no sense. I’m guessing he has an IQ of about 80, and a drug habit.
My son was shaken by a caregiver. He lives but has major disabilities. Nothing happened to the sitter, because these cases are expensive to prosecute and DA’s don’t want to take the risk of losing.
The family is devastated, I hope they can keep it together.
