Amazing, I had never heard of it before:

Transparent Aluminum - Star Trek Technology is now Real

Question is would it have survived holding in a million liters without failing? It says it's stronger than glass, which in my book is not saying much. 🙂

There is a difference between strength and tenacity. Glass is very hard, but brittle. Aluminum is soft, but strong.
