Bought a used 2004 in 2006. Zero problems and still running well with 240,000 miles.
(However, the poor guy is sitting alone since buying a Dodge Durango HellKitty, last year.)

Excellent vehicles, very dependable and rugged. Excellent resale value held of the life of the vehicle.

Unfortunately I have no used parts.
Nor a way to install them.
I want a cute rugged vehicle that I can depend on.

They are practically indestructible. They are called the mechanical mountain goat. I am hoping to afford one for my next vehicle.

Can’t go wrong with a Toyota. Period. Over the years I’ve gone for quality and replaced other brands with Toyota and Honda.

Avoid the first three generations, frame rust problems. Looking for a pre-covid (18-19) myself, but the prices haven’t really started coming down here yet. The only vehicle that holds its value better is the Corvette. Everyone I know who has owned one made it over 200K miles, and one was 315K.

Had two Jeep Saharas
Then the 4runner will amaze.
Mine has 175k and runs like a champ. With minimal mechanical problems.
Bar none the best vehicle I ever owned. [Your results may vary...]
If its not been beat up off road, flooded or wrecked, you should be great with one.

Have fleet of 300+k toyotas and none of them have the quality of a 4runner. There is no comparison between toyota and any other brand period.
Buy it. Simply run forever.
To: Chickensoup
I have a 2005 Jeep TJ that I bought brand new, still going strong. My brother bought a used 2005 Toyota 4Runner about a year later and we went on a lot of rugged, steep, dirt trails in the Sierra. His 4Runner could go just about anywhere that my Jeep went except for the most narrow spots, but that was only because he didn’t want to pin strip his paint job on the brush.
He still owns the 4Runner, now with almost 200,000 miles on the odometer, and it is still going strong. Only thing he’s had to do to it over the years is change the oil, battery, and thermostat.
