The fire started at around 1:15 p.m. at Kreider Farms on the 1400 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in South Annville Township.
According to Annville-Cleona fire Chief Philip Snavely, the fire caused $12 million in damages and has killed an estimated 250,000 chickens.
Fire officials say the fire began in the middle of a poultry barn row. The middle barn became fully enflamed, but crews were able to keep the fire neutralized to the one building.
Fire crews continue to work the scene of the fire as of 10:09 p.m.

The proper response would have been to send a fire truck filled with BBQ sauce.

Chickens smoking? I suppose it could have been electrical. Spontaneous combustion of litter seems unlikely in winter.
= = =
Is this a cage free farm? Where the inmates were let of solitary to mingle and share smuggled in smokes?

Might have smelled good...

I’ve lost count on how many chicken farms and meat processing facilities have burned.
Why, it's perfectly normal. That and children randomly collapsing from heart attacks, power stations getting in the way of bullets...

The price of eggs at the local Publix is outrageous, too.

How do they heat these buildings in the winter? That would be the first thing I’d consider.

You were counting? You get the official Keeper Of Odd Knowledge award today. One chicken barn will be bulldozed and then they will rebuild it and they will get 300,000 chickens to do what chickens do.

Exactly what I was thinking. WTH?
Do chicken farms have a history of burning
or is this a new terrorism by vegans?
To: TribalPrincess2U
There have been over 20 food processing facilities that have burned in 2022. Now the question is, who’s doing it?

"I’ve lost count on how many chicken farms and meat processing facilities have burned." Yes indeed!
The memory hole runneth over...
If someone was paranoid, they might think that these "coincidences" are carefully planned...

Close to $6 for 18 large eggs. I eat three eggs at breakfast everyday to help keep my protein levels up.
