McCarthy Promises to Subpoena 51 Ex-Intel Officials who Discredited Hunter Biden Laptop Story
American Greatness ^ | 12 Dec, 2022 | Eric Lendrum

In another campaign promise as part of his bid to become Speaker of the House, Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) has vowed to issue subpoenas to all 51 former members of the intelligence community who signed onto an open letter falsely declaring the Hunter Biden laptop story to be “Russian disinformation.”

As reported by the New York Post, McCarthy’s pledge came after the latest round of the “Twitter Files” were released by Elon Musk, revealing the true extent of the company’s past efforts to systematically censor conservatives over liberals. McCarthy has since described Twitter’s newly-revealed conduct as “egregious.”

“Those 51 intel agents that signed a letter that said the Hunter Biden information was all wrong, was Russia collusion, many of them have a security clearance,” said McCarthy. “We’re going to bring them before a committee. I’m going to have them have a hearing, bring them and subpoena them before a committee. Why did they sign it? Why did they lie to the American public?”

The letter, which falsely declared that the Hunter Biden story had “all the classic earmarks of a Russian information operation,” included such signatories as former CIA Director John Brennan and former National Security Council Director James Clapper.

The Twitter Files consist of numerous screenshots of internal messages, documents, backend controls, and other pieces of evidence showcasing just how much Twitter was actively censoring users in the weeks leading up to the 2020 presidential election. Musk has allowed the files themselves to be shared with the public through journalists Matt Taibbi and Bari Weiss in lengthy Twitter threads. These files have revealed the coordinated efforts at Twitter to censor the Biden laptop story, the controls that they had at their disposal to shadowban any given user, and the steps that were taken to ban President Donald Trump in the aftermath of the peaceful protests at the United States Capitol on January 6th, 2021.

In addition to focusing on Twitter, McCarthy has also vowed that the new Republican-led House will target Google and Facebook, saying that these Big Tech platforms have “become an arm of the Democratic Party.”

I hope this happens just so some in the public can see how the swamp works. I am not sure that there is anything to charge them with unless they lie to congress under oath. Even then nothing would happen.

There will be 51 witnesses who will either say they cannot recall ... or will say they relied on information passed onto them but cannot recall who provided it to them. No one will know who wrote the letter.

Dumbo McCarthy not only said he would subpoena each of them, but also gave notice on 3 or 4 questions that will be asked of them. Great strategy McCarthy.

I have zero faith or interest in anything McCarthy says, and about the same faith that anything of positive value will come from any kind of investigations.

I would like to be proven wrong, and in that light, I am all for it.

But I have come to see it as Kabuki theater from the likes of McCarthy.

OK,fair enough. But Priority #1 should be to get Hunter under oath, get the repair shop owner under oath and get every FBI agent who had anything to do with the laptop (including the Director if necessary) under oath.

Kabuki theater. They’ll all give identical responses, demonstrating that they are still collaborating, and giving a big eff you to the public. McCarthy won’t do any follow up.

What McCarthy has or hasn’t done in the past tells us what he’ll do or not do in the future.

IMO these 51 “experts” are probably guilty of nothing more than being useful stooges...loyal Rat Party hacks. Hunter and various FBI agents are the keys to this.

Or they will stick with “We didn’t say it WAS Russian disinformation. We just said it had all the hallmarks of Russian disinformation.”

Like, “Depends on what the meaning of is, is.”

Or like Pfizer the CDC saying, “We didn’t ‘order’ schools to shut down, or businesses to mandate the vaccine....we just recommended it.”

Weasels, all of them, who should be hung like after Nuremberg.

But they won’t. They’ll all keep their pensions and $400,000/year MSM “contributor” [payoff] gigs.

My take on McCarthy’s statements now is to throw some raw red-meat to the elected MAGA representatives ... to persuade them to make him Speaker. If accomplished, I am with you ... zero faith anything will be done or accomplished.

Yes, remember that the FBI has the security clearance background investigation files on all members of congress that have clearances. And there is no telling what could be found in the next reinvestigation.

At least a half-dozen ex FBI and ex CIA were embedded at Twitter. Not from the 51, but others.

It’s bound to be the same at Facebook, Google/Youtube, etc.

Our own KGB/Stasi/Gestapo were running social media.

I’m sure the republicans will issue a strongly worded reprimand, which the establishment media will completely ignore.

Business as usual.

The FBI specializes in blackmailing congress critters.

All it takes is a polite conversation when significant legislation is coming up.

“Shame if the video from that 2007 office party ever got out. The one where you were making out with that ‘special’ 17 year old male intern, the one you brought up from your district.”

That’s all it takes for the FBI/Stasi to keep congress on a leash. Just a few blackmail interventions here and there.

An FBI specialty since it was founded.
