The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.
Have fun with today’s Cryptogram and have a MARVELOUS MONDAY.
I am stuck. I am using the computer helper and think I have the first five words right, but can’t get the rest.
Hints, please?
Don’t help yet! I just got the first 8 after sending my plea for help :)
Got it!
Amen.

HAL'S CRYPTOGRAM HELPER
This one is the easiest in a while. It’s practically readable.

Krosan,
Good work there. Isn’t it fun to see the code become words?
Welcome to our cryptogram-solving-family. Would like me to add you to the ping list?
Thank you and yes, I would like to join your ping list!
I bogged down for a while in the same place you did. LOL!
After I got stuck I finally found the P-word and it all became easier.
This is my second time trying the puzzle and the first time I got to the end easily.
I agree - it does start to look addictive!
All you need to do is visualize whirled peas.
I thought his strip was that p-word in his earlier days. Then it became sillier. I think by then he wasn’t writing it any longer.
Funny, when I’m really struggling with a cryptogram, people are saying it was easy. And when one writes itself for me, people struggle with it.
