One of my favorite movies as a kid was “Journey To the Center Of the Earth,” which came out in 1959. That and “20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.” Both films starred James Mason.

I saw Rick Wakeman’s “Journey to the Center of the Earth” live in 1974.

Awesome movie....watched it again with the kids many times. We can practically quote the whole movie. Didn’t realize until recently that the final sequence where everyone escapes the depths through a volcanic eruption was a blatant simulation of intercoarse. They were pretty naugbty back in the 50s.....
