From a Golden Girls episode:
*****
Rose: Excuse me, I couldn’t help but notice you took several of my tasty, delicious, lutefisk puffs and you’ve hardly touched them.
Eva: Uh, I just don’t care for them.
Rose: Yeah, well, that’s an ugly hat.
*****
Hmm. I think I’d rather wear an ugly hat than eat lutefisk.
Happy Lutefisk Day to our Scandinavian friends. Enjoy! (And please feel free to hog it all for yourselves.)

Words seldom heard outside of Scandinavian countries: “More lutefisk please”

“cod that gets soaked in lye”
Gotta be a Viking to eat that shiite.

It is funny how we celebrate foods our ancestors HAD to eat.
Arctic dried fish - what they wouldn’t have given for an ice auger!

That’s why there are no more Vikings..........................

Fish? If it doesn’t come breaded & deep-fried, served with sides of slaw, hushpuppies and fries...and lots of tartar sauce...I ain’t eating it.
Think Captain D’s.

Cod soaked in lye.. Over the years I got to be quite a connoisseur of soap. Though my personal preference was for Lux, I found that Palmolive had a nice, piquant after-dinner flavor...
