The new 67th Mechanized Brigade is formed on the basis of Ukrainian Volunteer Corps (Right Sector).
Shortly after the Russian invasion in February 2022, Ukrainian command has decided to include all volunteer formations under the command of Ukrainian Army. One of the largest volunteer formations at that time was Ukrainian Volunteer Corps (known as DUK), formed by Right Sector after the Russian annexation of Crimea in 2014.
Shortly after the Russian full-scale invasion in 2022, the DUK expanded to six battalions and the units participated in the defense of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Mariupol and many other key towns. In March 2022, Ukrainian Volunteer Corps accepted the offer of Ukrainian command and joined Special Operations Forces (SSO) as the 7th Center of Volunteer Corps.
In late November, it became known that not all battalions joined the SSO and instead they formed a new brigade in the structure of Ukrainian Ground Forces, the 67th Mechanized Brigade. The second battalion of DUK was reformed as the first battalion of 67th Mechanized Brigade and sixth battalion as 2nd battalion. The brigade also has its own tank and artillery unit.

I’m glad the Leopard 2s are coming on line but sadly the Russians are going to throw everything they have at the Ukrainians. So many unnecessary deaths for Putin’s vanity.
