Rod’s first break in music came when Long John Baldry
(Don’t lay no Boogie Woogie on the King of Rock and Roll), who was a pretty big deal at the time, heard Rod buskin for spare change on a train station platform. LJB asked him to join the band and his careeef got started. Also in the band at the time(or shortly after) was Reg Dwight, later to re brand himself as Elton John (he took ‘John’ from LJB.
