What kind of a deal is it to swap Brittney Griner, a basketball player who openly hates our Country, for the man known as “The Merchant of Death,” who is one of the biggest arms dealers anywhere in the World, and responsible for tens of thousands of deaths and horrific injuries. Just to be clear, this is not big deal. It is strictly amateur, volunteer, community service. There is no money involved except donations to the station. The potential audience reach is less than 10,000 souls scattered around a dozen tiny communities on a handful of islands and the several hundred commercial fishing vessels that may be at sea in the area at any given time. There is a also a small internet audience.

KFSK Petersburg Community Radio is a Public Radio station with all that implies, including NPR produced content. I will be producing a two and a half hour program for the Friday afternoon time slot. When I had the slot in the past I led off with Kimo Kahoano's "The Aloha Friday Song" and filled the rest of the time with appropriate tropical music. Although I have considerable leeway, the program in this time slot is explicitly a music show.

(I also did an evening "It's Classic" and occasionally, the afternoon "High Country" programs as well).

The bottom line is that I have been asked to come back and help out. Specifically (Oddly) to play Hawaiian music on Friday afternoons.
