THREE goals in SIX PLUS HOURS of “action”. Where were these guys when I couldn’t sleep?
It was fun, and largely equal competition level.
HS team was for black guys with a tall white guy and an excellent shooting white guy.
CYO was for people like me. :)

The Dutch had well-placed crosses to a specific player making a cut to a scoring position. The US did a poor job marking opponents in their box, and their crosses were just shots into a zone and not to a specific player. Ain’t gonna win games that way.

I thought they were Dutch. But the Netherlands probably translates something like the far off reaches of our known domain - kind of like Austria is a Germanic rendering of Osterreichen which means the Eastern Kingdom.

We are just becoming jaded through constant leftist propaganda, and have come to expect the worst impulses in our political and socio-cultural elites. So while it may not have happened in this event, the kneeling etc. was done to the point of cultish obsequiousness and turned most right of center people off. That includes most of us here.

I'm not a soccer fan but I've been watching a little world cup. The Dutch looks like the best team so far. Others are not even close to them.

Yes so much fun - still friends with my CYO teammates 25 years later. The HS team girls were bitches and dikes. The coach was both. Glad she cut me.

I would like to see the South Koreans or Japanese go far.
I would certainly imagine the Brazilians and Croatians are favored.

For the same reason we’re called “Americans” and not “United Staters”.
I played CYO soccer in Thailand of all places, there were no openings at the international school so I attended a Catholic School for 2 years. Thai nuns were “mean” but I went back years later and I went to that Catholic School and there were four sisters still there and they remembered me cuz I was one of a few white faces in the crowd, and I wasn’t Catholic. They were wonderful & they loved us. I appreciate that.
I also treated them to dinner that night, it was a fun day and one that I hold dear.

Personally, I would rather start on a worse team and have fun, then be on the bench watching people I don’t like win.
I assume you’re the same.
