90% vaxxed or higher in most states.
Since close to half of Covid fatalities involve pneumonia, I keep wondering why there is no coordinated effort to mass vax the elderly with the two general purpose pneumonia vaccines?
Pneumonia vaccine will be pretty much useless for Covid induced pneumonia because covid will make the older person in bad physical shape so weak, there is little chance of killing the pneumonia bacteria. Vaccine does not “prevent” infection, only function of vaccine is to create anti-bodies. If pneumonia is from non-covid origin, the vaccine can be very useful due to anti-bodies present to kill the pneumonia bacteria.
