This shows the actual vote totals of all the candidates. Begich did split the conservative vote, but the worst part is that Begich's votes went to Petola, that is totally unfair.

Stalin is clapping from hell.

Begich is just another RepukeLicking Establishment POS.

I'm beginning to think that the conservatives should let the Republican Establishment take on the Democrats and their Media by themselves.

As in - "What do you mean by 'we', Kemosabe?"

Looking at your population figures there -- don't they have any children??

Or,

How many non-existent absentee voters is in that number?

Alaska has more registered voters (599,465) than people 18 or older (553,710).

And I thought the moose and caribou were Republican voters.

Just more proof that actual votes no longer matter. Until there is a real voter revolt it will not change. I know that if republicans would stick together for a change we could bring the country to a standstill unless voter fraud is taken seriously. Truckers are largely republican and they could stop trucks until elections are investigated correctly and fraud stopped. Right now would be an excellent time with the possible rail stoppage and gas shortages. All it would take is the will to do it.

We just lost a seat which has been with the GOP for 50 years yet there are still a large number of people including here that are gungho to do 2024 the exact same way we’ve done 2022, 2020, and 2018.

And you are going to get the same results. It is not rocket science.

The GOP House needs to ban these “creative voting” schemes federally.

Ranked choice voting is unconstitutional. It violates equal protection. Only the voters who picked the last place candidate get to change their mind. None of the other voters have the opportunity to change their minds.

If this were a true runoff, all voters would have the opportunity to change their minds the second time around.

It's actually an extension of Bush v. Gore.

In Bush v. Gore, the Supreme Court ruled that hand-recounting only Dade, Broward, and West Palm Beach County votes violated the equal protection rights of the voters in all the other counties who deserved to have their ballots hand-recounted too.

It's the same issue with rank-choice voting: all voters deserve the opportunity to change their minds, not just those voting for the last-place candidate. After all, in an actual run-off election, the people who voted for the surviving candidates are not forced to vote for them a second time, so why should they be forced to in rank-choice voting?

It's clearly unconstitutional.

Truckers, longshoremen, and railroad workers could shut down the U.S. with a combined strike. Lessons should be learned from the Canadian truckers' strike. The Republicans in the U.S. House can start the push for free and fair elections by refusing to recognize certified "winners" from districts with obvious voting fraud. The ranked choice voting wasn't approved by the Alaska legislature. Therefore, the representative from AK should not be seated. The Republicans need a Speaker with a pair, and that isn't McCarthy.

RCV is a horrid idea. One person, one vote.

“RCV is a horrid idea.”

But it served its purpose. Murkowski and her lawyer came up with it for AK, and she “won”.

How did conservatives let the deck get stacked against them in this Republican state?

Ranked Choice Voting was approved in a referendum where the legislature had no voice.

Only state legislatures can set election voting procedures, as per the United States Constitution.

No one in Alaska has made this claim in court, yet.

I haven't read one comment here from anyone who supports the way Alaska conducts their voting.

Why would a republican rank any other candidate or the other party in their ranking?
This whole process, number wise, doesn’t make any sense. The votes for Begich would’ve gone to either himself, if you chose to only rank him/or vote for him alone, or his next choice. That is why I don’t see how this happens unless they actually move his votes to another candidate claiming it’s part of the ranking. Which is what I believe happened here-it’s called cheating.

Hey, you have to give extra time for dead people to vote because they move slower than usual now.

Open eyes will show anyone looking at Alaska, that we are sadly not a red or conservative state any longer.
-Re-elected Murkowski
-Elected Peltola
-State legislature has been centrist/leftist for several years now. It is again.
-1/2 the state is government employees.

The left has worked hard and is winning Alaska.
