I get the sh*ts when the “food service community” trots out the $2.13 minimum wage sad sack line. Federal law stipulates that if their tips and wages combined do not meet or exceed $7.25 then the employer is obligated to make up the difference. And I guarantee you the vast majority do not report all their cash tips (actually I have no problem with that).

I always tip in cash, whenever possible, for exactly this reason. Screw the IRS.
