Avatar: The Way of Water Final Trailer Shows Off Pandora's Oceans and Teases a New Conflict
James Cameron is teasing new landscapes on Pandora and a new conflict in the final trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water.
On Tuesday, 20th Century Studios released the final trailer for Avatar: The Way of Water, which hits theaters over a decade after the director's 2009 film Avatar.
The long-awaited sequel meets the original film's main characters Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) as parents for a new adventure.
The sequel's "cinematic experience reaches new heights" as 68-year-old writer-director Cameron "transports audiences back to the magnificent world of Pandora in a spectacular and stirring action-packed adventure," reads an official description for the movie.
The sequel — the first of four more planned installments in the science fiction franchise — follows Jake and Neytiri's family and "the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure," according to an official logline.

That’ll make some coin.
Cameron says it needs to make 2 billion to break even.
So if that is true, it’s going to be a loss unless there is some new must see tech that is coming with this movie.
Needs to make $2bln to break even. First movie sucked.
The first Avatar had snowflakes heading in to therapist offices lamenting the loss of Pandora and wishing so much that it was real. I can’t wait to see how they react to the sequel. Much tears and gnashing of teeth I presume.
I think, for him, the money is not going to be in the theatres but in the video game and computer industry for graphics. With the technology in this movie, he will be able to license it out to the various game companies who want ultra-realistic graphics for their games.
Kill the smurfs if they die they die.
I don’t think the movie will make 2 billion. However, I think that he’s looking at licensing his technology to the video game industry. That’s where he might make a lot of money.
2 Billion is a lot. Endgame did 2.8 B, so it’s possible
The first movie is the all time highest grossing movie ever.
Just under $3 billion.
It’s a cartoon, people. Aren’t you an adult?
The stories are rehashed tales of old. Last one was Pocahantas in space. There’s nothing brilliant in plagiarism.
The villains are always the innovators and the heroes the savages in this world of pretend. It’ worse than a fairy tale since fairy tales have a point. These cartoons have nothing to say except ‘I shall destroy the creators who gave me this world and build nothing of my own because I cannot, and that’s your fault’.
Another disgusting virtue-signalling movie telling us how terrible WE are and that humans, and evil US capitalists in particular, are destroying everything after stealing it.
Rank Title Lifetime Gross
1 Avatar $2,922,917,914
2 Avengers: Endgame $2,797,501,328
3 Titanic $2,201,647,264
4 Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens $2,069,521,700
Avatar… Wakanda for white doughboy nerds.
Send in the Emperor’s Adeptus Astartes!
“Cameron says it needs to make 2 billion to break even.”
Paging Elon Musk . . .
Spoiler alert!
This movie will be really BLUE.
Hopefully not like the blue in Watchmen…
Oh! Imagine if Cameron had done Watchmen.
Remember when he was in talks to do a pre-Raimi Spider Man movie?
