Reality stars Todd and Julie Chrisley have been sentenced to 12 years and seven years in prison respectively months after they were found guilty in their tax evasion case.
The couple, best known for 'Chrisley Knows Best' on USA, was sentenced Monday by an Atlanta judge to a combined total of 19 years in prison, less than two days after one of their sons was seriously injured in a car crash in Nashville.
Todd, 53, and Julie, 49, will also serve 16 months of probation each upon their release, according to WBS-TV.
The news comes five months after the Chrisleys were found guilty on criminal bank fraud and tax evasion charges, as prosecutors said they took out $30 million in fraudulent bank loans.
Prosecutors alleged the couple used the money to fund their lifestyle, even before they had become reality stars.
Todd and Julia also used a production company to hide income from the IRS, lawyers argued.
Before Monday's sentencing, officials had stated that Todd was facing up to 22 years while Julie could have served up to 13.

Or did he own the land under the Empire State Building?
I happen to have met the Chrisleys in Dallas just before COVID. I was a guest of a participant in a celebrity softball tournament that raises money for a couple of charities (I was with the blue team supporting Veterans for Child Rescue, which fights child trafficking).
They arrived late and I happen to be coming down into the hotel lobby when they arrived. They were raising all kinds of fuss because they expected the event owner to roll out the red carpet and kiss their butts even though they were late.
I tried to offer help because they didn’t know how to get where they were supposed to be. But they just ignored me and threw a tantrum.
Never seen their show. Don’t have an opinion about whether they were targeted for political purposes or totally guilty.
Also met Stew Peters at the hotel pool the next day. He’s a conservative podcaster that apparently more than a few folks on this forum follow.
The lengths of their prison sentences require they be placed in Federal Maximum Security......not a good place to do time.
“Gays don’t do well in the general population.” True. Maladaption leads to unhappiness and then hell. That’s why 30% gay people become straight. Bunch of freaks.
When the New Jersey reality couple Joe and Teresa Giudice were both sentenced, the judge let one of them serve first and then the other one, so that their kids were not abandoned.
Possibly they will file an appeal so they can take care of his mother and their injured son.
Many of the comments on the DailyMail are that you can commit murder and get a shorter sentence; but deprive the government of money and look out! Harsh. Some suggested they should have been on house arrest with a gigantic fine to pay everything back with interest, rather than the taxpayer paying to feed and house them in prison.
They DIDN’T KNOW BEST.. Bank Fraud?
Todd’s kinda pretty. Hopefully the local Sisters will find him too old to bother with.
