Dog filleted, skinned three miles from brutal Idaho college murders weeks before: report

Police have not identified any suspects or persons of interest in the baffling Idaho college student murders

A dog was found filleted and skinned weeks before four University of Idaho students were found stabbed to death, leaving some locals to fear that the two crimes are connected, according to a new report.

Buddy, a 12-year-old mini Australian shepherd, was found skinned head to tail Oct. 21 after his owners, Jim and Pam Colbert, let him out in the backyard in Moscow, Idaho, according to the Daily Mail.

"We called the Sheriff's Department and the supervisor said that Buddy had been skinned," his shaken owner, Pamela, 78, told the news site.

"It was like a deer that someone had hunted. They cut him around the neck and just skinned him. His little legs had fur and his little face had fur, but the rest of him was just skinned," she continued.

The slain dog was found three miles from where Kaylee Goncalvez, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Ethan Chapin, 20, and Xana Kernodle, 20, were mysteriously slaughtered Nov. 13 in their off campus home.

Authorities have not linked the quadruple homicide to Buddy's killing, and did not immediately return a request for comment on the matter Monday.

Have the local authorities hired OJ as a stabbing consultant?

Could be. Head north and you're in Benewah county and on the Rez. As a friend of mine used to say, "In Benewah no one can hear you scream." West you have Pullman, south it'd be Lewiston, anywhere else it's secondary roads. Cold early this year in the weeds, so I'd look for a settled area. And there's always the sobering consideration that these might not be the first people this guy has killed. I don't blame the Moscow PD for calling in all the help they can get. It took 20 years to run down the Green River killer.

It's difficult to describe this terrain to people who have never been there. A half mile off 95 and you might as well be on the moon. As you probably remember very well...

Ed Gein... great empathy shown. I disagree with housing mentally unstable murderers and homicidal maniacs.

Alas, Wisconsin not only houses their cannibals and other creatively dangerous lunatics, they also choose to merely house their sanely homicidal enthusiasts. Although better than Fetterman’s ideal of hiring, instead of housing, them and disarming us for their protection. They were the first to break with the Capital alternative, after its only application 170 years ago, when they’d only offered the ‘NH plan’ for murderers: Live Free or Die. Since their only exception to caged welfare has been the more efficient Dahmer option of death by true peers. They’ve yet to try the peerless Epstein option.

I would prefer a ‘punish the guilty and protect the future innocents’ ladder with a Capital top for all that knowingly, or evilly wantonly, climb that high. And although I’d allow some space for some kind of reparable insanity plea, for those far enough gone I’m an Old Yeller fan. Modern SCOTUS may or may not agree, but methinks the Framers would.
