I saw it on the menu on TV and was with my 20-something daughter and suggested we watch it. She thought it was funny. I had forgotten about some of the scenes with boobs - embarrassing.
I told her that IIRC Bill Murray was supposed to be in just one scene, but he was so good they put him in others, and he ad libbed most/all of it.
Rodney Dangerfield has quite the story as well. He was always trying to do his comedy stuff but it never worked out. But he kept at it. Finally he got his big break - I think he was in his late 50’s and was selling used cars or something at the time.
Sarah Holcomb was in Animal House and Caddyshack, then left Hollywood for good.

Perhaps his Army years as a young man contributed to Ted Knight’s focused professionalism.
People don’t know that he was in the original ‘Psycho’ movie.
So we finish the eighteenth and he’s gonna stiff me. And I say, “Hey, Lama, hey, how about a little something, you know, for the effort, you know.” And he says, “Oh, uh, there won’t be any money, but when you die, on your deathbed, you will receive total consciousness.” So I got that goin’ for me, which is nice.

I use the “hey, looks good on you” about once a month at work. So many good one liners in that movie.
I read where Ted Knight was so exasperated at times from the ad-libbing that many of the facial reactions didn’t have to be acted.

The only thing I remember besides the cute gopher was the candybar in the pool.

Ted Knight (born Tadeusz Wladyslaw Konopka) dropped out of high school to enlist in the United States Army in WWII.
He was a member of First Army Group, A Company, 296th Combat Engineer Battalion as a radio reconnaissance operator and was among the first American troops to enter Berlin toward the end of the war. He won five Bronze Stars during his military service.
When this came out, I was a car valet at a prominent country club. It wasn’t long before some guests would tip me and say “Here, put on some weight!”
OMG! It's been 42 years and probably over 100 viewings and I've never made that connection! Wow!
