Could it be that our society puts so much pressure on girls to make them think they have to be willowy thin, and have a “beautiful face?” But not all are, and the rejection by so many boys causes them to start imagining that maybe they aren’t girls. I have put the word “beautiful” in quotes because we are talking here about outward cosmetic beauty, not the real beauty that comes from within.

No, I have seen pretty girls, even actresses go for it, I’m not aware of a pattern.
Other than the fad and grooming aspect of all this nonsense, I have always held the belief that this garbage is happening with these fools because of perceived rejection by the opposite sex which leads to little to no self-esteem. They then take the easy way out, which they eventually find is not so easy and regret it.
