Now what she is doing may be technically illegal, but there is zero chance to ever prove it. Dad and kids might not really care, but they would certainly claim they voted if ever asked so mom wouldn't get in trouble. So now one democrat vote has suddenly become four democrat votes. Now multiply that by 100,000 in that state and democrats have suddenly gained 300,000 votes they wouldn't have had before.
How about the unionized caregiver at a large nursing facility? Offers to help a few of the “less aware” residents fill out their mail in ballots, presto, a big stack of Dem votes. Probably not significant in the strongholds for either side but enough maybe to tip some elections in the purple states.
In the old days, that zealous mom would’ve requested absentee ballots for the family members she knew wouldn’t go. They probably would’ve signed the form, and then the eventual ballots that she had filled out for them. Now it’s just a bit easier.
“But now, not only moms ballot come in the mail, but her husband and two kid’s ballots do too. She of course fills out all four, voting straight democrat and sends all four-back in.”
I’m old enough to remember when voting was a PRIVATE matter. So even if Mom was a flaming Democrat, the most she could do was drag her husband to the booth. But when it was a booth, hubby cold vote Republican, just to cancel the bitch’s vote out of spite, or perhaps he wanted his boys to remain boys and his girls to remain girls. Either way, it’s HIS VOTE and only HE knows how he voted*.
So how can voting privacy now be assured? And what’s to keep a couple of DNC types from showing up at the door and ‘helping’ people fill out their ballots, or simply buying their ballots and filling them out later?
And why isn’t this being addressed by the Courts?
*Obviously we had vote-by-mail for certain groups of people, but it was maybe 5% of the voters who did that.
Mail in voting also spawns voter intimidation or bribery.
Imagine if you’re a union worker in Las Vegas. The local union boss shows up at your house, with a mail in ballot, and give a high pressure talk about being a “team player.” Who are you to say no?
What you described in post #4 is fraud. It can never be accepted. We are indeed being disenfranchised.
