Marjorie Taylor Greene has called for “auditing” the additional billions that Biden wants to send to Ukraine. But her audit idea would still have our tax dollars going to Ukraine if the money passed the audit.
Why doesn’t she propose, instead, to use the billions to help shore up Social Security and Medicare? Republicans are always whining that those programs are going broke and we can’t afford them without big cuts. If that’s so, how can we afford sending money to other countries - especially Ukraine, where the war is helping to drive up prices and restrict supply chains worldwide?
If she proposes using the money for Americans in budget-challenged programs like Social Security and Medicare, Rep Greene will underscore the insanity of subsidizing Ukraine - because it robs us of urgently needed resources at home.
American People First. The needs of the American people should come the demands of any foreign country.
Pure politics and not any sort of real solution.
Shifting what has and is scheduled to go to Ukraine will not even beging to shore up Social Security and Medicare.
Totally ending some things like the entire dept of ed would be more helpful.
Spoiler alert: The GOP wants to eliminate Social Security and Medicare.
“Every drop is important.”
Not if the bucket is so leaky that it drains faster than the drops you put in it.
She’s just pot stirring. Chumming the water.
Now you’re getting it. Anyone who thinks the wall stopped the flow of drugs is a fool.
Think about it harder.
Nah, I’m pretty sure I have a good handle on our defense spending, and how much would be saved by Russia falling to a second-rate conventional power.
I don’t know what you’re talking about I was talking about MTG
