The world is getting hotter and more crowded and the two issues are connected, but not quite as much as people might think, experts say.
On Tuesday somewhere a baby will be born that will be the globe’s 8 billionth person, according to a projection by the United Nations and other experts. The Earth has warmed almost 0.9°C (1.6°F) since the world hit the 4 billion mark in 1974.
Climate and population is a touchy subject for scientists and officials.
While more people consuming energy, mostly from the burning of fossil fuels, is warming the planet, the key issue isn’t the number of people as much as how a small fraction of those people are causing way more than their share of carbon pollution, several climate and population experts told The Associated Press. […]
Comparing two United Nations population projections scenarios of 8.8 billion people and 10.4 billion people, Climate Interactive’s Drew Jones found only a 0.2°C (0.4°F) difference. But the difference between no price or tax on carbon and $100 a ton was 0.7°C (1.3°F). …

You wouldn't think this is the case by watching anything or listening to the radio. It's all they talk about.
Right. They have no clue how many people there are. But we are all 98.6 degree radiators causing the planet to boil!
The only places that are crowded and polluted are the filthy, corrupt, "centers of culture and refinement" sprinkled around our planet, also known as cities. Humanity doesn't need population limits, the cities do.
Eugene Levy’s long lost fat slob brother.
If you took the entire worlds population and put them 4 to a house with nice yard, not huge but nice. the land area requirements of the entire worlds population wouldn’t be much more than TEXAS and maybe 1 or two other SW states.
Now obviously logistics of doing that are impossible, but “Crowding” has never been a real threat, at least not globally.
So, they will take money from successful, productive countries and give it to lazy failure countries.

>>Want 50% less emissions, built 200 powerplants and open Yuca mountain to long term waste.
Current US generation capacity is about 12,000,000 megawatts.
A standard nuclear plant is about 1000 megawatts.
So you need a lot more than 200.
Not saying it isn’t a good idea. It’s just that you need a lot more nuclear plants, especially if you use electricity for heating and transportation in the future.
Let me guess...she knows just the things for everyone ELSE to do, just not her.
Yes the money trail gets longer
This article has reminded me to buy more steak.
I here I though at least a billion Russians had been killed in the Ukraine.
I had an interesting conversation with a former Air Force pilot who now does international runs to Asia for FedEx. Asked him which place is the worst to fly into? He said anywhere in India, you smell the sh*t as soon as you break below 10,000 feet.
Here is my proposal: they choose the population number, I choose who lives.
See if they like them apples.
Yeah - and we all know how easy it is to model water vapor. /s
