Tennessee only #6??? Have you been near a Tennessee Wal-Mart lately?
With coming hunger wave, the overweight/obese people are set to survive.
The slim people have no chance!
Amazed that California isn’t near the top. There are more fat people here than I have ever seen, 3 out 0f 4 in my estimation and it is not uncommon to have 2 heffers blocking the entire aisle at Costco.
The fattest people I ever saw were in St. Louis, MO. Arizona isn’t too bad, but some of those people living on the reservations weigh down (ha ha) the average. ;)
Type 2 diabetes, which is where all this “obesity” ends up, is reversible; however, to actually deal with this “epidemic” is like spitting into the wind because you are fighting guess who? Big Pharma, their bought/paid for enablers in the Industrial Medical Comples, & Big Ag.
It’s “criminal” that so-called public health does not actually care about health as in wellness ... it’s continuing those policies/practices that result in ill health so Big Pharma can peddle their drugs to relieve the ‘symptoms’ of what ails ya. Medical schools don’t teach true medicine ... memorize those lists of symptoms & the drugs that go with them. The COVID crap is just a more focused version of what is going on with the “obesity” epidemic. BTW, those docs that don’t go along with “the narrative” with pushing more insulin/drugs, unhealthy food/patterns of eating, etc. are ALSO vilified, threatened with having their licenses taken away, etc. .... when this happened with COVID, I had seen it before with docs reversing T2D, metabolic syndrome, etc.
A simple “prescription”: Be kind to the ones you love, eat REAL food (not processed crap, sugar, vegetable seed oils), and get outside (Vit D, activity).
That is one area where red states especially in the south win. Southern states have some fat people. I often wonder why they let themselves gets so bad.
Here’s a link to the source. https://wallethub.com/edu/fattest-states/16585
If you click on the far right column, which shows “food & fitness”, you can see that the Southern states take up most of the first top 10 or so. All that fried food, I think. Yummy, but have to eat those sparingly.
“Colorado finished as the least overweight state.”
Wonder if that has to do with the ‘diet’ of pot and Cheetos that’s so popular there? *SMIRK*
Pritzger is my Governor…🙄
A breakdown by sex and ethnicity would be useful.
Thank goodness for the Biden America Starve Program. We’re about to see a lot of those excess pounds starved off the unsubsidized working poor and middle class.
Probably the biggest comorbidity with regards to COVID is probably obesity. But we put fat people on underwear commercials and covers of fashion magazines celebrating being obese and we wonder why we have people getting sick for any number reasons and our healthcare costs keep rising.
Long lines at McDonalds. . . .the prices are quite high and the nutritious food is off the menu.
I am Retired and 60YO and I run every day. Don’t eat crap and exercise if you want to have a good life.
How about ignorance?
How about ignorance?
I run everyday, outdoors. A couple times a month I see normally sized people. Most days it is heifers swiping their portable computers while driving. Sad to see people living awful lives.
Looking at the entire list, you see that the western states have the lowest obesity indexes. People tend to be outdoors a lot more and do a lot more outdoor activities year-round.
