DALLAS - Two military planes from World War II collided mid-air during a Veterans Day air show at Dallas Executive Airport on Saturday.
The accident took place around 1:20 p.m. during the Commemorative Air Force’s Wings Over Dallas WWII Airshow. There were between 4,000 to 6,000 spectators at the show.
Video from witnesses obtained by FOX 4 shows the planes colliding and then bursting into flames after hitting the ground.
Fallen debris stretched from the south end of the airport, across Highway 67 to a strip mall on the opposite side.

Broad daylight. No clouds. Just T-bones it in mid-air. You watch it and watch it and you still cannot believe it actually happened.

Only thing I can think of is either the pilot of the small plane had some sort of episode (heart attack maybe) or the small plane had a mechanical failure and the pilot lost control.

I think those guys never knew what hit them, and were all dead, before they could figure out what happened. Sad for sure.

Was it Texas Raiders or Ghost Squadron?
If Texas Raiders, my apologies for crediting the wrong squadron with the pics...

Looks to me like the P-63 lost sight of/never saw the B-17, which was below him. How he could be so unaware of the other planes around him, I don’t know.

I will always remember it as the Confederate air force.

I honestly didn’t know the woke police had gotten to them long ago until this accident. They came after the flags at Six Flags over Texas several years ago *sigh*

Watching that it almost looked deliberate. That was so weird. I know it wasn’t but it looked deliberate.

Officially now it’s the Commemorative Air Force. That way they did have to change the stationary.
