And yet, I don’t care.
I feel sorry for the women at the prison where Griner is being sent.
sounds like the way prison should be here in America instead of a country club with internet access
That’s one way to learn the Russian language.
At least Griner won’t have to hear the Star Spangled Banner at the Penal Camp.
And she might make some new “friends” with the big Russian Dykes.
“This is a legal slavery system. There’s nothing about correction or improvement of people’s behaviour,” she told NPR.
Well.... you didn’t do it again, so there is that.
Sounds great!
How much you want to bet that, rather then appreciating the US, she will come back in 9 years still hating it.
Well, play stupid games...
NPR is the only entity that still concerned about Griner.
If it was a white hetero male the concern would have ended.
Yep. It sounds sorta like Parchman Farm, a hundred years ago.
When Griner figuratively spit on the American flag, she rejected our standard of living, probably without even realizing it. Now she will have to live in the world she embraced. Some people might call that karma.
Play stupid games — win stupid prizes.
C’mon, Brandon. Offer a trade: Kamala for Brittney.
“This is a legal slavery system. There’s nothing about correction or improvement of people’s behaviour,”
No, it’s called punishment. It works. I am quite sure after these nine years pass she won’t smuggle weed into Russia again.
There are Americans in the prisons of many foreign nations - they broke the laws there and they’re doing time. They don’t get these kind of sob-stories written about them and they shouldn’t - if you go to another country, go prepared to obey its laws. I’m sorry for Griner, but no more than I’m sorry for some random American in prison for drug-smuggling in Singapore or Australia.
I do wonder what charge the Russians/USSR arrested people for before they heard of the Irish Hooligans.
“There’s nothing about correction or improvement of people’s behavior,”
well... if the fear of going back to Prison, in RUSSIA, isn’t enough, just exactly wut does the frunt think would work???
Other than the hard labor part, the J6 inmates aren’t being treated any better.
Nine years? It’s a good thing she didn’t take an unauthorized tour of the Capitol, she’d get twice that.
If this had happened in the U.S., Griner would have been quickly released because there are so many cards that could have been played: the race card, the gender card, the celebrity card, and the LGBT card. None of these work in Russia.
