There were two reasons that there was no red wave: Donald Trump and abortion. Whether the people here like it or not, those were the two reasons. If Donald Trump had ridden off into the sunset after the 2020 election and the Supreme Court had not completely overturned their abortion precedent, there would have been a red wave.

I’m glad the Supreme Court killed Roe and I am willing to sacrifice political power to save babies lives.

Then we could go back on here complaining about how the GOP stabs conservatives in the back kinda like old times

Perhaps. But the "red wave" you describe would have put this country exactly where it was in 2011-16 ... with a docile, compliant bunch of Republican losers in Congress passing one useless bill after another -- along with endless continuous funding resolutions -- to enable a corrupt Democrat to carry out his party's agenda through the executive branch of the U.S. government with no opposition.

Cry me a river if you want to criticize me for not GAF that we missed out on that opportunity.

“If Donald Trump had ridden off into the sunset after the 2020 election and the Supreme Court had not completely overturned their abortion precedent, there would have been a red wave.”

If Donald Trump had not put conservative judges on the U.S. Supreme Court like we elected him to do, the court would not have embraced the U.S. Constitution and rekindled that thing about life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Blame it on Trump for not appointing another David Souter.

Truthfully, it was the GOP’s message about how they would deal with inflation and all the other crisis going on. A plan.

It’s not enough to tell the American people we have a problem.

Americans are like little children. You need to tell them how we got here and what you will do to fix it and describe how much better life will improve in just a year after having been elected to fix the problems.

Nothing from the GOP. No specific plan.

Maybe they were too busy fighting each other to see the incoming from the DNC

I'm in NY CD-3. It's covers Northern Nassau, Northern Suffolk and a slice of Queens. The Republican who ran in this district is unapologetically pro life. He was at the January 6th rally supporting Trump and refuses to apologize about that.

On Election Day he flipped this formerly blue seat red by 9 points.

The media, and the RINO politicians are gaslighting you. Abortion and Trump wasn't a negative issue here.

The establishment is back and you and others are falling for it.

I know I am not the first to add a third, nor will I be the last: rampant cheating.

There is one big thing that no one is calling out in this cycle. In 1993, the Republicans were in lockstep opposing Hillarycare and the Clinton tax increases. In 2009, the Republicans were in lockstep opposing Obamacare and other bailouts. Both of the following midterms (1994 & 2010) we kicked ass because we were a united front.
In 2021, we had RINOs supporting Build Back Better, kicking MTG off committees, spending stimulus programs, etc. The midterm in 2022, was a puddle as a result.
There is plenty of criticism to go around but we have not been a united front prior to this cycle and we paid the price BIG TIME.
I think Kevin McCarthy has no business becoming Speaker nor does Mitch McConnell deserve to be Minority/Majority Leader. Plus, Ronna ROMNEY McDaniel needs to either be removed or resign. Trump supported McDaniel not just in 2017, he supported her after the 2018 midterm, and after the 2020 debacle. This is the third election on McDaniel’s watch that didn’t produce good fruit.
I am not denying there was cheating, I have no doubt that there was cheating. However, the RNC had two flippin years to develop a comprehensive GOTV plan customized for each state and today, we are no better off than two years ago.

If Lindsey Graham had not opened his big fat mouth about a nationwide abortion ban, abortion would not have been such a big issue for young, single women.

He knew what he was doing when he said it and got the reaction he wanted.

He and others like him are shameful.

Donald Trump is responsible for what wins we have had because the turnout was enormous for Republicans.

Ridiculous to think otherwise.

Still MAGA

Trump is running in '24. Desantis will get crushed if he tries to go against Trump.

You will be voting for Trump in Nov. ‘24.

Get used to the idea.

Where else are you going to go?
