Trump should announce as the PEACE candidate (like Teddy Roosevelt got peace btw Russia and Japan, won Nobel Peace Prize)

Desantis is great, but it’s still Trumps time. No other top politician has called for negotiations to end Biden’s war with Russia over Ukraine. In this, Trump stands alone - just like he did in 2016 campaigning to bring jobs home, end regime-change wars, and Make America Great Again.

Teddy Roosevelt brokered peace between Russia and Japan.

Ike ran in 52 on a promise to end Truman’s endless war inKorea.

Nixon ran in 68 pledging to bring LBJ’s war to a close

Reagan ran in 80 promising to end the Cold War

Peace and strength are a Republican tradition. (Only W Bush deviated, starting a disastrous regime-change war)

Trump can win as the Republican candidate of peace versus Biden, the Democrat candidate of War.

TRUMP was already a PRESIDENT of PEACE.

On his watch there were no wars.

I love Trump...but our best shot will be DeSantis. He advocates for the same policies as Trump but has much more experience actually running a government and clearly is much better at judging political talent.

Trump’s Cabinet selections were God-Awful (Tillerson, Mattis, Sessions, etc.) DeSantis has surrounded himself with politicians that support his policies and are LOYAL.

Lastly...DeSantis will not turn-off Independents with unnecessary “tweets”.

Again, I love Trump and we needed him to stop Hillary...but it is time for “young” blood...and DeSantis fills that bill.

Reagan ran on ending the Cold War in 1980?

MAGA is peace. Trump proved it. I don’t know what he gets from promising to wipe Biden’s butt.

“Reagan ran in 80 promising to end the Cold War”

Yeah, but Reagan ended the Cold War by defeating Russia and freeing the states they had enslaved, not by conceding to Russia and letting them keep their ill-gotten gains.

“ I don’t know what he gets from promising to wipe Biden’s butt”

Same thing Eisenhower got by pledging to bring Truman’s war to an end.

“ Reagan ended the Cold War by defeating Russia”

Reagan didn’t invade a single country. He started no wars. Biden already has troops in Ukraine and is warning about nuclear war, and his administration pressured Zelensky NOT to negotiate.

Trump is a master negotiator. What I think he should do:

1) Offer Putin a deal that looks like a win. Crimea becomes Russian. The rest of the areas go back to Ukraine but with protections for the Russian language. Ukraine doesn’t join NATO.

2) Tell Putin he has 48 hours to accept, or he will double aid to Ukraine. Send them F-35s, Iron Dome, ATACMS and other tech that will crush the Russian forces.

I suggest you go back and watch all the Trump rallies and tell me that DeSantis could win. After the hard work Trump did before his election and all the hard work he has done for those who were running, you think we are going to vote for Desantis? No, too many like me who have watched him work so hard and then expect to allow a “new commer” take it from him? NO WAY. I would sit that one out.

Reagan negotiated in person with Gotbachev, the ruler of Russia. The US neocons hated Reagan for doing that.

Read some bios of Reagan and how he fought against the IS war hawks in order to negotiate with Russia

“”Peace and strength are a Republican tradition. (Only W Bush deviated, starting a disastrous regime-change war)””

You might mention the first Republican president Lincoln, maybe H.W. Bush, perhaps Grenada, William McKinley and the Spanish-American War.

Grenada? Panama? Libya? Beirut? Nicaragua?

You either are very young or have a selective memory I guess.

Do you think Putin will last in power into January 2025?
Then give 3 to 6 months negotiating?

“Reagan negotiated in person with Gotbachev, the ruler of Russia.”

And yet he conceded nothing in terms of legitimizing Russia’s conquests and Russia crumbled anyway.

You need to read some bios of Reagan. He fought the neocons in order to engage in negotiations with Gorbachev. And Grenada was not a war, it was a weekend rescue operation, like sending the national guard to a hurricane.

Lincoln? Sorry, but it was a Democrat - Jefferson Davis - who started the civil war

The Republican Party has historically been the party of peace. Lincoln started his political life railing against a Democrat - James Polk - for taking the US into an unprovoked war

Continuing with the Teddy Roosevelt analogy, Teddy was a great president. Heck, he made it onto Mount Rushmore. But he didn’t consider stepping aside after his presidency was over. So Teddy gave it another go in 1912.

As a result, was Woodrow Wilson was elected (a disaster).

Just something to think about.
