Steven J. Vaughan-Nichols’ analysis may be accurate. Or it may not.
The main target of Musk’s swing of the big axe was the entire political apparatchik that contributed nothing to the technology of the system. How much overlap in that strata between political goons and tech wonks remains to be seen.
But I suspect Musk has a better perspective than SJVN.

Also: Leftist fear and loathing

Exactly! Sour grapes eating leftists screaming "the sky is falling".

Twitter won't fail but the extreme radicalized leftists will leave which is a good thing. They can't handle any other opinions than their own communist mantra. They will find another echo chamber to have their circle jerks.

Twitter will do just fine. Nothing a $billion in money won’t fix, using non woke programmers.

Aside from a few little technical glitches, it seems a lot more fun now.

I wonder where Twitter posters would go if they decide to quit. The alternatives are a bunch of minor platforms, it is is reasonable to think they will be scattered there. Without a single monolithic platform, the impact of tweeting will go down significantly. That is my take.

It is simple. There are just too many moving parts. Get rid of the “control” algorithms that conflict with each other and go back to the original base core and it will be fine. Get rid of the garbage, make it simple and stable, and then leave it alone and it will run it’s self. Our own forum has been up and running for over three years and never needed to be touched once. Get it stable and if it ain’t broke don’t try to fix it and add garbage, just leave it alone.
