After the complete and total lay down in response to the 2020 “election” by the DC Uniparty (R), who’s surprised the democrats took advantage of their allies’ gift? If you are surprised, why?

People somewhere in TN elected a dead person. Not just brain dead.

Republicans are right on policies but totally clueless in a street fight.

His ads were awful. He hit on no topic I care about. I almost stayed home.

I am done. I am staying out of the futile attempt of getting all wee wee’ed up over 2024 primaries or the race. I am tired of continuous hateful election cycles. Everyone else can pick one and I will vote, maybe. But it will probably be a futile attempt after 2 more democrat years.

They already told us they were going to rule by fiat and use the courts no matter what happens..

We may have to come to the realization that we are now a liberal-leaning country. If we couldn’t win in this environment, perhaps we’ve misread how enslaved the American people wish to be…

Voter theft?

Sorry, that claim is not serious. If Conservatives cannot stop fraud even when we expect fraud, we have no right to ask anyone to vote for us, and no right to ask for donations.

The issue is demography.

We have had 40 years of massive legal and illegal immigration. In 2020, 34% of voters were non-white or foreign born. More than 70% of them voted Democrat.

That means that white voters must vote 62% Republican just to stay even.

When was the last time a Republican got 62% of the white vote?

1984 - when Ronald Reagan got 66% of the white vote in his landslide reelection.

The GOP total Popular Vote numbers are even worse...

In the last eight presidential elections, only George W. Bush managed to get a majority of the total Popular Vote in 2004. He squeaked by with 51%.

Republicans do have one advantage in Mid-Term Elections. We are widely disbursed in the USA. Democrats are highly concentrated in urban areas.

The GOP almost always has a chance to win a small majority in the House. And, because of low population states, we often have a chance to win a small majority in the Senate.

Let this sink in.

57% of U.S. households paid no federal income tax last year as Covid took a toll, study says

Republicans are only good at backstabbing their own voters. They are terrible at messaging and winning elections.

Taxes, more wars, and raising SS age doesn’t cut it anymore.

“””You’re right, of course - but why the pessimism? This lackluster result with OBVIOUS voting fraud should spur voters to further involvement and governors, too. The fix can be dredged out and I think it will be.

The Tea Party needs to grease up its wheels and get rolling.”””

I am not trying to be pessimistic. I am trying to point out that FReepers and conservatives need to get their GOP state leaders off the pot and start cleaning up the voting systems in their states.

Again - your assumption is, anyone who does not want to vote for the Democrat will vote GOP.

But the GOP is dying. More people hate them than hate the Democrats.

It’s a terrible thing for our nation, our people. But hard as it will be, the GOP needs to be replaced.

I have been a solid Trumper since the Descent on the Golden Escalator. I think his running in 2024 will be perceived as an attempt to take the wheel and run over DeSantis. This will not go over well. If he is nominated I certainly will vote for him. But it remains to be seen if he is electable in 2024.

I hear you. It’s very discouraging. They all belong to some special club up there in Congress.

I remember when it was the primaries in 2016. I met an older gentleman in line that said he hadn’t voted in over 25 years. He was dressed in overalls and had leathered hands. He only came out, I’m sure, because of Trump.

They all must have a good, good time over there in DC. Parties and lavish lifestyles. Gotta rub elbows, ya know. Scratch a lot of backs, and make sure to have big pockets in your own jacket, so somebody can slip you a few goodies in there.

I wish over and over we could start over again. I wonder what our Founding Fathers would think if they came back for a visit.

The problem Trump has is he wasn’t elected in 2020 and he is losing a lot of his supporters since then and even more yesterday.

I think he’d be a great President again, but now it comes down to support and electability. Instead of expanding his support, he is losing it, that’s not promising.

The GOP leadership has to assume a lot of the blame for last night. However, I think the abortion issue was very effectively used by the Democrats. GOP candidates were characterized as extremist on the abortion issue and had no effective counter arguments. While I am staunchly pro life, we need to be pragmatic on the issue. The best counter is to support putting the abortion issue up to a vote of the people in the various states.

“...lots of people are just fine with the situation and eagerly await the results.”

A lot of/most people who vote Dim don’t understand that they are replaceable and their replacements are streaming across the border.

There won’t be any room for “useless eaters” in the future. Equity is a bitch.

My prediction since 1/7/21 has been a theft of both houses again in ‘22 regardless of how badly the dems had destroyed the country in the previous two years. After another week of counting, I’m confident my prediction will be fulfilled.

The mail-in ballot is the outright theft of the House and the Senate by the DemonRats.

I agree with you on this matter.
