The way it works is a letter stands for another letter. For example: AXYDLBAAXR is LONGFELLOW (does not apply to today's cryptogram).
Beware, the game is very addictive. If this is your first time, don't be intimidated, you’ll be solving them all within a few days. If you’re stumped, take a break and return to it.
PLEASE DO NOT post the answer in general comments, but DO post your time and how you made out.
You can certainly send your solution to my private reply, or if you need a hint for today’s Cryptogram ASK THE GROUP FOR HELP!
I suggest printing these out and work them on paper. If you need a little help you can copy and paste it to Hal’s Helper below.
You can then work on the puzzle without using pen and paper, but I recommend that you do NOT look at the letter counter.
One last request. Feel free to post a fun or clever clue, the more tangential to the quotation the better, but please don’t put the actual words of the quote in the clue.

I came very close to not posting today, as the election was a dissapointment.
What an awful night. But I do appreciate your posting. Now whether I will have the mental acuity to solve this puzzle, after last night, well who knows.

Sometimes you need humor too.
I think I posted after the 2020 debacle, and many people stopped doing the puzzle and dropped out of FR altogether.
Already, the Anti-Trump voice is raising it’s ugly head.
We lost because of early voting.
Florida has tight voting laws. Not right to have early voting so far ahead of debates.
Should be done away altogether.
Indiana has strict voting laws also. The ease of mail in voting changed the electorate.
Well, I recognized the author.
In my county (in a small mountain community of N.C.) more people did early voting than Tuesday voting. But:
(1) We do not use Dominion Voting machines.
(2) we mark our vote on a machine, but that machine does not count the vote. Instead, it prints out a printed ballot that I can check over for mistakes. Then I take that print out to the machine that does the counting, slide it in and wait for the screen to give a confirmation that it counted my vote.
(3) In case of dispute, there are paper print outs to verify against the counted votes.
(4) Unasked for Mail in type ballots were not mailed out to people, nor were there drop boxes.
(5) Absentee ballots had to be requested and they were strictly treated. I know because I had to help my 94 year old mom get one. It needed signatures and addresses of 2 witnesses and when I dropped it back to the election headquarters, I had to sign for it and watch it go in a lockbox.
Though our county is a mixture of Dems and Republicans, the election for every candidate including our district vote for US Senate, House and Justices; plus our district reps for State Congress ALL went to Republicans, though some by fairly close margins. The problem is that when Dems control the way elections are held, they WILL CONTINUE to make sure they win, even if by fraud as they justify the fraud in their minds. And they will continue to come up with more and more sophisticated methods of fraud.

THE GOVERNMENT CONSISTS OF A GANG OF MEN EXACTLY LIKE YOU AND ME. THEY HAVE, TAKING ONE WITH ANOTHER, NO SPECIAL TALENT FOR THE BUSINESS OF GOVERNMENT; THEY HAVE ONLY A TALENT FOR GETTING AND HOLDING OFFICE. — H. L. MENCKEN
