WOW! Very Encouraging Tafalgar Results on Key Question
The Trafalgar Group ^ | October 31, 2022 | Trafalgar

Interesting Trafalgar results.

It's a well known phenomenon that election polls are more accurate if they ask participants how others will vote: Much more predictive than asking who are you going to vote for. This way it includes all kinds of people who are not participating in polls and avoids people hesitating to tell the truth about who they plan to vote for.

So Trafalgar always asks this question. Most recent results (October 31, 2022) were published.

"Who do you think your neighbors and friends will vote for in the 2022 midterm elections?"

Republicans -- 60.6%

Democrats -- 35.7%

Third Party -- 3.6%

Turnout very low in California all around. We must turn this to our advantage.

It also helps the HUGE problem that pollsters are having with polling Republicans. They refuse to participate in greater numbers with each election and this one is expected to be particularly bad after 2020. They are not inclined to cooperate with liberal pollsters.

A large number of people have come to realize polls are used as a tool of repression.

How could you answer “Third Party” to such a question? That answer makes no sense.

I was a Libertarian for 40 years.

A lot of my friends were Libertarians.

I did not have many neighbors.

So you were a corner case?

So you were a corner case?

I don't understand the reference.

Please elaborate.

When asked if inflation was a problem affecting their family,
80% of republicans said yes and 113% of democrats said no.

I always tell people I’m unsure of that I’m voting for Prosperity, not Poverty.

I’m just saying you weren’t typical (a “corner case”). If people have to categorize all of their friend lumped together into R, D and I, I don’t think you’d find enough people with all “I” friends (Libertarian or other I) to say that “their friends and neighbors are voting ‘I’.”

Good post—polling definitely has elements of witch-craft to it.

In the old day George Gallup (polling pioneer) called himself Dr. Gallup (guess he had a PHD) and claimed polling was scientific.

After the Dewey newspaper headlines in 1948 folks figured out that the “science” was not quite settled.

;-)

Even if the pollsters are not intentionally a part of the Deep State they are easily hacked by Deep State actors.

I am pretty sure I have been "non-typical" all my life.

People with common interests and outlooks tend to socialize together.
