Cool thing to see if you ever get the chance. The drone obviously gives everyone a great view. There really are plenty of fish in the sea.

I thought this had to do with a hair-do runoff of some sort - like “Achey Breaky Heart” What’s-His-Name...

That’s what I figured too. Had to have mullet to compete. Beer stands instead of water stands.

I couldn’t tell what the predator fish were. Didn’t look like sharks, but we’re very large.

My old karate instructor used to pluck mullet out of the water by hand. He’d always throw them back because they are oily and most people don’t like the taste.

I used to net a bunch at Sebastian inlet, harness up, hook one on as bait, and catch giant Amber Jack. Two hours of fight until I could get a gaff on one.
Never ate the mullet. I used to fish and sell the big ones. Trout and snook I would eat. I was a student whole I lived in Florida. How anyone goes hungry in Florida I have no idea? All the fish, crabs, fruit, and Hotel happy hour snacks you can eat!

(Rush, we're missing your take on all of this!)

I was expecting to see a bunch of bikers with distinctive hairstyles.
To: rdl6989
I thought they looked like tarpon, but I didn’t know they would go that close to a beach

My grandfather used to use them to catch bluefish.

Fried mullet is very good, in my (and many others) opinion. FWIW.

Occasionally when I lived on the east coast you’d hear about people getting bluefish bites!
To: FLNittany
Ahhh! Biloxi bacon. Smoked mullet is very good eating. Used the catch boatloads with a cast net.

Darn, though we were going to get some Florida Man fun.
