Thompson SMGs actually do fit into a violin case. The deluxe versions actually come inside one. At arms length you can’t tell the difference. Those would all be NFA papered so one wouldn’t expect to run across one in the rainbow van of a bunch of longhairs. But there’s no way I would expect a cop to not be a bit wary of violin cases, especially if they were by themselves with no other musical stuff around?
