I am glad that Catherine Engelbrecht and Greg Phillips of True The Vote have been released from jail. Her statement says that their detention was “reversed by a higher court”. I wonder what the reason was. Can they sue for false imprisonment if they were detained on spurious grounds?
I am sad for the mother of Brian Sicknick because losing a child is always tragic. He did not die at the hands of anyone on January 6, however. He died the following day from a stroke if what was reported is accurate. Zero LEO‘s died at the hands of anyone on January 6.
Biden’s speech yesterday at Sarah Lawrence College was replayed on C-Span after the Trump rally. Biden talked about hypothetical attacks on England’s Parliament building or the German Bundestag, saying what would they think if their building had been stormed and two policeman has been killed. His speech writers at least did not claim that policemen were killed or January 6 though they did imply it.
Biden was reading from big flatscreen TV type teleprompters behind the gathered standing crowd. C-SPAN’s cameras caught those brightly lit teleprompters when they showed the audience after someone had fainted and help was needed. Biden actually handled that situation ok, unlike what NNN says. On the other hand, he gave the speech while walking around the small stage using a handheld mic, in my opinion, pretending that he was speaking from memory when he was reading directly from the huge letters on several teleprompters.
It was so amazing to watch Trump continue to finish his speech in the pouring rain. No one at the rally left early.
And he stumbled over something that was black. I suspect it was a small step if he was on a platform, and both the platform and the area below were black, so he didn’t notice the step.
They try to make him look like he’s on top of his game. I particularly enjoy the little spirts of running he goes into lolo, as if that’s his norm.
I consider the little jogging sprints by both Obama and Biden to be quite “unpresidential”. I do not recall seeing the leader of any other country ever doing such a thing.
