He wanted to go into the breach one last time ending his career with a bad season and shattering the image of the ultimate power couple marriage.
Annus Horribilis:
1: Losing at home in divisional playoffs
2: 100% botched retirement announcement.
3: Back-stabbing Bruce Arians
4: Disappearing during summer camp
5: Headed to a nasty divorce
6: 3 game losing streak with Bucs at 3-5 currently out of the playoffs
If you are a bitter person like me, seeing Mr. Perfect fall flat on his face is quite amusing.
The boy who refused to grow up
A man like Brady is a naturally high performer. He could have honoured his wife and gone into something else and been at the top of his game there.
The ultimatum may explain a lot. Men are good at compartmentalizing, but may not be aware when the compartments are beginning to break down, and may have poor skills at dealing with the collapsing compartments.
Brady has generally excelled at having his head in the game—perhaps his greatest strength. He seems to have purified this focus even more so as he has obscenely prolonged his career.
But behind every successful man is a woman (perhaps not entirely literally true) . . . and if the exceedingly rich Queen has decided it is midnight, the coach and groom will have about as much power over a collapsing situation as a pumpkin.
You don't know if it's pride. Perhaps he just loves what he does for a living.
And as for his wife leaving...you have no idea what goes on behind the scenes in a person's marriage.
And you quote Scripture to support your judgment?

Don't come to work (we were commissioned only) if you and your wife are fighting.
If there's anything happening at home that will be in your head while you're working, you will not sell.
I was successful in pre-need cemetery sales because I had a happy, God blessed wife and marriage.
Sadly Brady decided to take the Dan Marino retirement package. Capping off a sensational career with a dismal season.
“I shall resign the Quarterback position effective immediately
.”
(Media) “There’s the former QB, walking to his helicopter, now he’s giving the thumbs up.”
And here I thought Tom was the play caller.....
Since they both intend to do their own thing, I hope they have a plan for keeping the kids safe from bad handlers and other woke predators? Their kids are facing the toughest Season of their lives and the help they really need, won’t be there.
The thing is, his stats are fine, he doesn’t have anything to work with, and Gronk was his security blanket for years, but he’s retired.
Coulda, Shoulda, retired.
Knowing the work schedule of my ex-company’s CEO (6:30 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. most days of the week) and almost all Saturdays, she has nothing to complain about if it’s his playing time. And he’s still in his 40’s.
He can do better than her.
And…he cannot walk away in the middle of the season.
Too much drama, and a bad O line means it’s not going to be a good autumn for TB12.
Brady should have retired at the top. Now his football career will come to a sad end, and he will lose his wife. Dumb.
I won’t trash him. He was a great and successful quarterback and probably also addicted to actually playing on the field. He probably had a hard time letting go of doing what he liked the most.
He probably should have retired, but he did not. Maybe he needed what is happening now to bring him to reality.
Sorry he has trouble with his marriage but if they cared about saving it, they could do that.
