Members of Afghanistan’s elite National Army Commando Corps are reportedly being contacted to join the Russian army in Ukraine. Afghan military and security sources say these US-trained light infantry forces could make a difference on the Ukrainian battlefield. The commandos were abandoned by the US and Western allies when Afghanistan fell to the Taliban last year.

20 dam years, and they wanna say we abandoned them. 20 years and they still needed us to stay longer. BS. The gop would still have us there, Trump wanted us long gone.
The “highly trained” former Afghan government troops were not well schooled in the arts and techniques of leadership. And without organized leadership, they become merely an armed mob.
Being recruited by the Russian Federation to fight as mercenaries is probably one of the better employment opportunities available to these sometimes well seasoned and trained combatants. The American Foreign Legion is given up to new ownership.
