The Conjuring is the scariest I have ever seen.
The Exorcist, The Ring, The Grudge after that.
In the category of it was so stupid it was funny:
Vampires Suck
Spoof on all the Twilight movies. The girl playing the lead really had the mannerisms down of the chick from the original movie.
Also Carrie (never forget the ending scene), Halloween (the music was very effective), and surprisingly Amityville II: The Possession.
The most recent horror film I been seeing is Called ‘THE BIDEN-HARRIS ADMINISTRATION’. It seems so real... 😁

Understated, good horror movies

The best of the nazi zombie movies...fun schlock. You probably have seen it, but it’s always cool to see Peter Cushing.
Freegards
I always enjoyed when Lee/Cushing were working together.
Halloween movies or horror movies?
If the latter, I’ll add The Cabin in the Woods, which ranks with Blazing Saddles as one of the all-time great comic deconstructions of its genre. I rarely watch horror films these days and am stale enough that I don’t recognize most of the “horrors” that are unleashed. The Lovecroftian framing I do understand, and I completely loved the role of the chem department: so many bad decisions finally explained!
A Clock work orange.
I think John Carridine is in this one, but not sure if they get screen time together.
Freegards
Horror movies for Halloween. A lot of crossover. I just like to see something different than the usual slasher/zombie bloodfests.
One of David Carradines last films. Silly stuff. Line dancing singing cowboy zombies.
Dead & Breakfast
A night at a local bed and breakfast turns into a bloody supernatural fight to the death.

The original Phantasm was one of those flicks that really got into your head. The ending was really scary.
Phantasm
I liked that one a lot and the first Hellraiser.
I’ve seen both Halloween (1978) and Halloween 3 Season of the Witch (1982). Is Halloween 2 (1981) (or any of the other sequels) worth watching? Halloween 3 is another good and likely underrated title.
Superior movie.
A salvage crew discovers a long-lost 1962 passenger ship floating lifeless in a remote region of the Bering Sea, and soon notices that its long-dead inhabitants may still be on board.
