I'm making an online bet with a friend, and the steaks will be the medium of exchange.
I looked at Omaha Steaks, but they seem absurdly expensive, and not a good value.

Get a Costco account, and buy one of their Black Friday specials.
Still expensive but some true prime steaks.

Ditto on Costco. They have consistently great quality at a good price.
Or buy them from a local farmer — you may get better quality by buying something that grew up closer to home.

We have been ordering meats from Wild Fork Foods for a couple of years now. They have a very good selection of meat. They offer far more than just beef. They offer beef in numerous varieties and various levels of quality from Select, to A5 Wagyu.

You get what you pay for.
Omaha is very good but very costly.

A friend ordered us some Omaha steaks one time, and it was a lovely gesture, but the steaks weren’t as good as ones we can get from our local butcher. Maybe you could find a great butcher near your friend and work out an arrangement with the owner.

Omaha Steaks are mediocre. Try Snake River.

Ramstead Ranch in Ione, Washington (far northeast corner of the state) has GREAT grass fed and grass finished meats. We buy their meats in the summer at the farmer's market in Hayden, Idaho. Pricey, but very high quality. Family owned and operated, too.

Rush used to rave about Allen Brothers steaks (based out of PA). But that’s probably because they paid him a lot of money.

My mother once sent me a package of Omaha Steaks after watching one of their commercials on TV.
The steaks were tiny, about 4 ounces each. They make them look bigger in the ads, but you have to see them in relation to something else, like someone's hand or a utensil.

Never had any luck with mail-order beef. Most were thin, tough, and expensive especially Omaha. While we eat steak only about once a week the best value around South Texas is our local HEB grocery chain. They sometimes will discount your purchase 5-10% if you buy over $100.
