The state of New California took another giant step towards statehood last week.
Americans in the state of California have had enough of the corrupt anti-American actions the unconstitutional leaders of the state continue to take. These patriots are tired of policies that the leadership in the state takes to help China and the cartels while destroying the state and the country. They’ve had enough.
These multiple unconstitutional anti-American actions taken by the far-left and now communist acting leaders of the state are too much. The state cannot continue with policies of open borders, high crime, massive spending, and corrupt elections. Because of all this, the state of New California was formed.

I wish them well, but it would take the current California legislature to agree and the US Congress.
Neither likely to happen!
The constitution is very clear. A state cannot be carved out an existing state. In the case of West Virginia, it was annexed without a vote from congress. Lincoln just took it.
I agree but what COULD actually happen would be redrawing the borders of existing states.
One example that we could see succeed in the next year or two is “Greater Idaho” where they would move the Idaho/Oregon border west to the Cascade Mountains. This is especially likely if Oregon elects a Republican Governor this year.
Western Oregon will be allowed to “stay weird” while eastern Oregon can join up with Idaho who they are much more socially, economically, culturally and politically similar to. The balance of taxes/spending in the state currently leaves Western Oregon paying a surplus to Eastern Oregon. Without Eastern Oregon receiving their tax money, Western Oregon will have more money to cut the genitals off of more mentally ill children.
It’s a win/win scenario for everyone (except the children).
Not too likely. And here is the pertinent section to back you up - Article IV, Section 3 -
New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.
I guess it was revived more recently, but it's still only the northern part of California, not the inland counties further south.
Coastal Northern California, though, usually votes Democrat. And wherever you put the capital of the new state it will become a Democrat stronghold - ditto for state colleges.
theyd better check that map
it looks like they could wind up with 2 leftwing states
I was driving on Hiway 49 in the foothills and there were a LOT of Jefferson State flags, as you say.
Nope.
The only chance would be if Republicans somehow took over the California state government and the liberals decided that they wanted to secede. Since the democrat population in a few high population California counties outnumber Republicans in the entire state, its not going to happen.
Like the progressive disease of cancer, “progressivism has indeed metasticized at Sacramento and the nearby college town of Davis.
At some point rules be damned. Jefferson should do the same. Declare it an autonomous zone

There use to be a lot more but penryn, lincoln, newcastle, and auburn are being inundated with bay area transplants. They are driving up all the land values and destroying all the small town feeling.
I grew up in Sacramento and we kids used to spend a LOT of time wandering around Placerville, Jackson, Auburn and Folsom Lake.
Heck, I worked on the Upper American River project out of Forest Hill.
In the early 1960’s we were always shooting our .22s around Folsom Lake...there were no homes there at all.
My wife grew up in Lincoln.
Quite the change from those days.
The UP of Michigan has a better chance than this fantasy.
Which should happen.
I think they might agree to it if CA were divided into 3 states: 2 D and 1 R; the net result would be the same - overall the state would have slightly more power.
California a place in the jungle
Unfortunately, it’s going to take a revolution. I keep waiting.
“I thought it was the leftist Counties which wanted to secede...”
Yeah, I remember seeing a Yahoo link about “Calexit” shortly after the election. Tried to click on it and it had already vanished. Guess they thought better about giving anyone any ideas...
More proof that God has a sense of humor. When the Big One hits...
