Rep. Cori Bush (D-MO) did not appear to have a strong showing with her new book.
The progressive firebrand and member of the "Squad" in Congress sold 729 copies of her memoir The Forerunner: A Story of Pain and Perseverance in America during the first week of sales, the New York Post reported, citing NPD BookScan. The following week, she only sold 288 copies.
"From one of America's most transformative politicians and activists, a powerful and inspiring memoir that sheds light on a harrowing personal journey and reveals how urgently we need our political leadership to prioritize meeting the needs of our most marginalized communities," a description of her book reads.
Her memoir focuses on her time working a minimum-wage job, surviving sexual violence, and rising through the political ranks into Congress. She was paid at least $50,000 by the publisher, according to financial disclosure reports.
Bush's book hit bookshelves on Oct. 4, and the congresswoman did a media blitz promoting it. At one point, while promoting the book, she recounted a painful memory of what she described as a forced abortion that she endured at the age of 19.
"I thought I was ready. And I went in, and I went through all the steps because ... it's almost like an assembly line," Bush recalled in an interview on Firing Line. "I was helped up onto the table by the nurse. And I lay there. And I started to think, 'Well, one, I didn't tell the father, that that was about to happen.' And I just felt like I needed more time."

These book deals are not always about the book. In some cases they are away around campaign finance laws or just a bribe.
Unions and large corporations could buy these books by the thousands as a way to gain influence.
So if she sold just 729 copies it may mean she is not in any position to either help or hurt anyone (other then the voters but they don’t count).
The publisher is Knopf.
The parent company is Penguin Random House.
Which is owned by Bertelsmann.

The point is not to sell books. Books are merely a means to hide bribes to politicians.
They use the book sales to offset the bribes.
It tends to be a good deal, most times, for everybody.

I don't put it past FDR to have fomented our involvement with those continuing wars. After all, he created the “New Deal,” which further turned our country into a leviathan, against what our Founding Fathers had told us we needed to fight against happening. He was not the best example. To this day, Democrats are stuck on the stupid (actually, “crafty, evil, pseudo-genius”) that government must be ever bigger, because their control of centralized power needs to reign supreme, rather than allow states or individuals their proper authority.
World War II was already going for years and was being lost by countries now taken over. All the US did was end it.

Captain Underpants Dog Man, the children’s book, sold almost 55,000 more copies than Beautiful Things as the Hunter Biden memoir flopped during its first week in bookstores. Despite glowing press coverage from CBS This Morning to Jimmy Kimmel Live!, the tome sold only 10,638 copies on the Publishers Weekly chart that was topped by the 10th volume in the Dog Man series.
In the non-fiction hardcover list category, Beautiful Things was ranked 12th, well below the top-selling The Hill We Climb: An Inaugural Poem for the Country, that was read by Amanda Gorman at Joe Biden’s inauguration. It sold 42000 copies.......
