On average, 3-3.5 gallons of diesel are consumed in raising and harvesting one no-till acre of corn; even at $5 per gallon, that's less than $20 per acre.
Corn, at my local elevator, was bid at $6.60 per bushel as of Friday (close to twice what it was two years ago). At an average yield of 175 bushels per acre, fuel represents 2% of the value of an acre of corn.

YAY Biden. An exciting transformation just yesterday for me. I had to fill up. $6.79 a gallon. What an opportunity.

I’m a little worried about heating oil right now. Scheduled for a delivery in November. Got a quarter tank left of a 500 gal capacity tank. I’m looking at an over $2,200. bill a month before Christmas. Oh, and a $900. property tax bill due in Nov too.

"I am not worried about anything this government is doing any more."
Maybe you'll start worrying when you can't feed your family or arrested for stating an opinion.

Before Diesels took over in the 60s, big trucks, delivery vans, and farm equipment ran on LP gas. It may be time to back again.
They also had a small number of gasoline semi's too, not as good in power as diesel but worse comes to worse, they do work. Dad says that you can run diesels on kerosene, fuel oil, jet fuel, etc., although for the first one at least, you might need additives for lubricants. Maybe a gas turbine truck might not be bad too.
