President Biden claimed Friday that three universities reached out to gauge his interest in their top jobs after he left office as vice president in 2017, but that his wife Jill strongly objected.
Biden told the story at Delaware State University while speaking about his cancellation of about $400 billion in student debt — saying it was a “true story.”
“True story: When I left the vice presidency, after Beau died, I wasn’t going to get involved in politics anymore. So I became a full professor at the University of Pennsylvania,” he said.

Many people don’t understand what university presidents do. Their job is to find rich donors and get them to contribute millions of dollars. It is the provost who is in charge of actually running the university.
Next Biden will claim he was married to Morgan Fairchild.

Despite his severe, crippling dementia, the man hasn’t lost his lifelong talent for asinine boastfulness. Who goes around saying that they’re a “full” professor? A normal human being would simply say that they were a “professor at Penn” or that they “taught at Penn.” But, no, Joe will have you know that he was big time. Honestly, I don’t know if the school granted him “full professor” status or not, but it’s a stupid thing to brag about ... and, if true, it’s also an unearned accomplishment. The man is not qualified to be a college professor anywhere let alone an Ivy League college. He has no record of academic accomplishment, was intellectually useless even in his best day, and never actually taught students. He was given an honorary title because he was the figurehead leader of the so-called “Biden Center” at Penn
My dear departed uncles, all nine of them, could tell a story like no one I’ve ever seen or heard. They all started with “This really happened. I kid you not”. Some of their stories had a kernel of truth to them, but many were made of whole cloth. They were very amusing though.
One story involved an uncle who was a driver for the owner of the local “whore house”. That’s the first job he got when he returned from the war. He was in charge of driving the girls from the establishment in Georgia to the one in Alabama and then bringing the girls there back to Georgia. He said switching the girls around kept the guys returning to the “House”. I always thought it was a lie. Later in my mom’s life, she told me that “Yep, it was true”.
I suspect there was more truth to my uncles’ stories than there is to Joe Biden’s.
Back when SNL didn’t suck.
