A musical love story between the famous heart surgeon coma ghost and his ex-love, a neurosurgeon, who has left her American hospital to stay and care for him back home in Korea. "Cheer up, sleepy Gene, oh, what can it mean to a daydream believer and a homecoming queen."
Hint: words to the 2nd verse that I have great trouble understanding.
You once thought of me
As a white knight on his steed
Now you know how happy I can be
And our good times start and end
Without dollar one to spend
But how much baby do we really need?

Susan Boyel took an ‘ok’ song and made it beautiful. She has such a clear and lovely voice.
Sorry, but Davy Jones will always own that song.
I agree. I listened to versions of that song over and over again. It was the lyrics that I needed and I thought I’d go with the version I remembered. The problem is that the story is about a coma victim. (I keep wondering how Rain stayed so still for so much of the time in that drama!) And the popular version of the song is upbeat and excited. The coma victim is definitely NOT that. So I felt forced back to Susan Boyle’s slow version to match the rhythm to the video movement (or lack thereof). While I do love her voice, here I would have preferred Davy Jones, if all things had been equal.
One of my favorite YouTube videos is Susan Boyle’s ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ audition. Neither the judges nor the audience took her seriously when she first took stage. Many snickered. Then she started to sing.
I love her voice. Here’s some other videos I made with her songs:
Deep Space 9 - René Auberjonois Memorial - Who I Was Born To Be - Susan Boyle

Smallville - I Dreamed - Susan Boyle

NCIS - Proud - Susan Boyle

Dr Who - Father Christmas - Susan Boyle

YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve watched that multiple times. So glad to have the link again.
Susan does have a beautiful voice.
Great song when done by the Monkees. This version? Meh.
You’d really prefer an upbeat coma ghost?
Oh, I am SO tempted to remake it to demonstrate what I mean. But I’m currently logging King 2 Hearts and will probably stick with that for now.
The South Korean brother of the mythical king of SK is sent on a joint military competition with a North Korean team headed by a female special forces operator. The king’s goal is country reunification and he pushes his brother toward marrying her. All the forces are arrayed against this, including the potential bridegroom.

You are right, it's hard to understand. I looked it up, it was originally written as “funky” not happy. It makes a bit more sense when you think funky in a 60’s way.

BTW, I really like the video as well as her rendition of the song. I am a sucker for unrequited love, more-so even as a result of tragedy.
I will never forget going to dinner with my first cousin, who I’m betting was a recreational drug user, and the entire conversation being “Wow.” “Groovy. “That’s a bummer.” The sixties. So many memories. Loved the fashions.
Every time I watch that video I cry. Touches my heart.
