The Western media for decades has hailed Vladimir Putin as a great strategist. But if the past eight months have proved one thing, it’s that this strategic wizard often achieves the opposite of his intentions.
...Mr. Putin should look to history. During World War I, Russian authorities tried to conscript Muslims from Central Asia. The result was a major uprising in summer 1916, which took months and tens of thousands of Russian troops to suppress. In the end, none of the Muslims were sent to battle—and, by withdrawing army units from the front to confront the internal uprising, Russia expedited its eventual defeat. Less than six months later, the czar and his government were forced to resign.
By sending poorly trained non-Russian men to Ukraine, Moscow may soon meet a similar fate. Centuries of pent-up bitterness and frustration over rule by Moscow may spill into a military confrontation and civil war. Given Russia’s current military defeats, this isn’t a distant prospect. If and when that happens, Russia will fall apart as the empire of the czars and Soviet Union did. It would be ironic if the man who wanted to revive the U.S.S.R. instead ushers in the twilight of Russia’s last empire.

Stop your stupid, fake MSM spin. Its pathetic
Opposing US involvement in Ukraine for last 20 years, pointing out asinine deep state lies and propaganda does not make one “a Putin supporter.”
An interesting thing is happening in Europe. I don’t think I’d call it a solid trend yet, but...
Sweden has a new, Conservative (by Euro standards, anyway) PM, who is a firm supporter of Ukraine, and has just relegated their Ministry of Climate and Environment to 2nd tier status by placing it under the Ministry for Energy, Business and Industry.
In Italy, Giorgia Meloni, nearly a MIGA (Italian version of MAGA) has formed a new gov’t* and has been quite adamant about supporting Ukraine.

Her energy policies also seem hopeful:

(biased source, but useful)
And in the middle of all the chaos in the UK:

(The vote was not even close, in favor of allowing fracking.)
Sensible Euro energy policies will wreck Pooty and his pals in the long run, unless Russia can drastically reduce its government’s reliance on energy profits.
Wrong! That is a textbook example of the "Tu Quoque" Fallacy!
But since none of us here are actually Biden supporters, it's not even "Tu Quoque" - rather, just a diversion / deflection.
Regards,
My wife is a Muscovite by birth. Our children are half-Russian, speak Russian, and know Russia.
What your "old and well-educated" friend said may be true. I hope it's true.
But before that can happen, Putin must be deposed / consigned to the scrap heap of history. And - unfortunately - a lot of young Russian soldiers are going to have to die before that is accomplished.
An even greater tragedy: A lot of Ukrainian civilians will also perish.
Regards,
Right. Arrests o innocent civilians by the Dementis Joe DOJ/FBI for political reasons is much worse than anything Putin is alleged to have done in Russia on that front.
But since none of us here are actually Biden supporters,
Plenty of Biden supporters here. They just don't usually come right out and say it outright. You should read enough posts.

Yes and yes.
Beyond a tragedy; more like the emperor tossing his conscripts into the volcano to appease the volcano.
I fully support Ukraine and yet I feel sorry for the frontline Russian troops.
At about 15min 18 sec a woman wailing on a Moscow bus, she has lost her son. Our son USMC Infantry was with a friend when he was KIA , Anbar. His mother screamed at the sky until she collapsed.
Pain for the rest of her days on earth.

NB: I do not agree with the commentator’s conclusions on this event, IMO the proletariat have little/no control of events.
Otherwise an interesting video.
