You can’t discount the impact of the Greens, who control the levers of power in several countries, prominently in Germany, for example, via their “traffic light” (Red-Yellow-Green) power sharing coalition.

If the Greens bolt, the govt falls. So on energy, the Greens have a veto.

And at their core, this is what the Greens believe: “We have to destroy the economy to save the planet.”

I first heard this stated with giggles on NPR, between a “science” host and a “climate” guest.

“We have to destroy the economy to save the planet.”

Europeans suffering and freezing is just a necessary price to pay to finally get Europe off of evil nasty fossil fuels.

The Greens actually welcome what is coming.

“We have to destroy MOST OF HUMANITY to save the planet.”

When Biden gets a question about inflation, he says it's bad in Europe too.

1) Leftists would call that answer "whataboutism."

2)What causes inflation in Europe? Is it the Greens + other categories of socialism?
