A Kansas City area man once employed under contract as a translator in Afghanistan for the U.S. Department of Defense is accused of lying about his contacts with two recruiters aligned with the ISIS group that was responsible for the bombing of Kabul’s airport in August 2021, which killed 13 American service members.
Mohammad Rafi Mohammadi was arrested Sunday in Kansas City as part of an investigation led by the FBI’s local field office. He faces one charge in the U.S. District of Kansas of making false statements in reference to obtaining his security clearance, a crime that carries a maximum penalty of five years in federal prison.
According to an affidavit filed in the case by an FBI agent, Mohammadi sought that clearance for work as a contract linguist, and answered a question falsely on a federal form in August 2019. On that document, Mohammadi denied ever associating “with anyone involved in activities to further terrorism,” court papers say.
Before then, the FBI and federal prosecutors allege Mohammadi sought to provide support for two people who were actively seeking to recruit and train members of ISIS-K, a division of the terrorist organization centered in Afghanistan’s Khorasan province.

That’s the thing, this strain seems to have more adverse reactions than the previous strains. That’s not how virus work naturally. So, an update. My friend’s wife says he was not vaccinated, which I find hard to believe as he is an optometrist at Wal-Fart vision.
All I know is that in my anecdotal world, only vaccinated people are getting this new strain.

Melian do you have more info on this? I hadn’t heard of this before but got my attention. Just this week I had a co worker have an emergency appendectomy. She is in her 50s. I don’t know any people that have had this done at that age but I suppose it happens.

I’m obviously not Melian lol..but my appendix tried to kill me in Jan, so I had to have it removed. I also had Covid at the time, but have not had any clot shots.
Having said that, I’ve heard several different “theories” (loosely termed because I don’t think medical professionals know what the heck they are talking about sometimes.)
I heard that having Covid causes appendicitis, which in my case is simply not true. My appendix had been bugging me for years, way before Covid. I knew it was going lol, but you have to wait until it’s bad now before they’ll remove it.
I got Covid on a Sun and Fri started in with this nonstop vomiting.. serious, every 10 min, couldn’t keep a thing down. Not even an ice chip. One of my cats jumped on my stomach at about 5 pm and I thought.. “NO.. no... that hurt, no, it can’t be appendicitis.” But it was.
Then ER nurse told me Covid causes severe vomiting. I just looked at my hubs. No, it doesn’t cause THAT kind of vomiting, appendicitis does though.
My hospital nurse, who was quadruple masked, gloved and special gowned was angry that I wasn’t vaccinated and told me all the horrible things that might happen because I’m not vaxxed. I just said, “well I’m allergic to a couple of things in vaccines, so I can’t risk it, sorry you feel that way and can I have something to eat?” Yeah, call the cafeteria. They had nothing gluten free so she threw me some sugar free jello. I didn’t have my cell phone so couldn’t call hubby to rescue me. I decided then and there to not call her unless I was dying. I got a really nice late night nurse, who took good care of me.
I’m 66, I was surprised at the appendicitis. But I got a smart ER doc that said it can happen at any age. My oldest sister was 18 when she had hers removed, my dad’s appendix had bothered him starting at the age of 10. No money, so they seriously strapped him to an ironing board, turned him upside down, and massaged his appendix until he felt better. He got his out at the age of about 30?
When I had my hernia surgery, one of the nurses also repeated that covid can cause appendicitis, so I smart mouthed said.. “Wow, I must have had covid 6 or 7 yrs ago, cuz that’s when mine started bothering me.” My covid and my appendix together were a fluke as far as I’m concerned. But it’ll probably be part of the statistics now.. the covid and appendicitis go hand in hand.
Nowadays, I believe all appendectomies are emergency, because they wait until you are near death. (I exaggerate a bit). But I went to 2 doctors and was told, have to wait until it’s an emergency. My dad, on the other hand, since it was years ago, and the surgeon was a good friend told my dad, call me when you are ready and I’ll remove it. My dad was working a couple of jobs and couldn’t take the time off... in 2 months work slowed, so he called his surgeon and he took it out. No emergency, just done, no waiting until you are sick.
My sister was sick like I was, non stop vomiting, but she had a lot of pain. I didn’t have pain until said cat did the exam lol. No referred pain, but when the ER doc pressed on that area, I about hit the ceiling.
So far no pancreatic issues. But again, I’m not vaxxed nor will be.
I hope this clears a bit up.
