Read later, plus check to see what Ketamine is.
Ketamine and Psilocybin are not even remotely similar
Lot of research on mushrooms these days as a antidote for depression.
A number of people are using that and other hallucinogens to manage depression symptoms.
no
a mood disorder is an exaggerated and not realistic thinking and behaviors.
Yes there are criteria to distinguish a mood disorder from normative responses to the stresses of their environment that cause for example grief.
A disordered mode of thinking which exhibits racing negative thoughts and an unrealistic negative perception of self, situation or others is just one example. Mood is on a continuum and there are points where the thinking becomes disordered.
No people can have difficult reactions to Ketamine.
In the ER people having a bad reaction were famous for what they would do.
So I’m hearing now. Everyone I ever saw acted goofy, then passed out.
Of course they were quite drunk when they took it.

this is a good laymen’s definition
Your comment: Ketamine and Psilocybin are not even remotely similar

The original article we’re both commenting on was about treating depression. Ketamine is a patented drug from the 1960’s. Obviously psilocybin is not.
Since the ncbi article is so recent it appears pharma is trying to introduce K’s use for depression.
Psilocybin is already being used successfully in treatment for PTSD and depression.
I prefer carefully monitored natural remedies to synthesized chemicals.
I like to follow Andrew Huberman Labs out of Stanford as they do a good job of educating us novices. Here’s one of their podcasts I enjoyed a while back on the same subject.

Bottom line... combined research shows Ketamine and psilocybin near equal in the treatment of depression.
