A short while back, I pulled out of a strip mall crossing the north bound lane heading into the southbound lane and saw no southbound traffic. No sooner did I complete the southbound access, some jackass punk on a crotch rocket pulled up along side me and started flipping me the bird and yelling and screaming at me for allegedly cutting him off.
What the asshole didn't realize is that due to his speed and low profile I never saw him...but yet he faulted me.
I don't take that crap lightly so I tailed him and at the last stop light, I was tempted to lightly tap his rear end but thought better of it and made my turn......All the while he was continuing to scream at me.
The punk was lucky, someone else in my position may have taken more aggressive action.
A headlight modulator is a worthwhile addition to a motorcycle to help other parties see them. It's still no guarantee. I had a van pull a left in front of me when I was on my Sporty. My line of sight was obscured by a sign in the cement center median. It was a mutually obscured visibility. I reflexively put the Sporty into an apex style sidewise slide. The van just cleared in time and I allowed the bike to resume going forward. One long black line (40 ft) on the pavement. I doubt that I could do that again on purpose. I still have a picture. Another Sporty rider was less lucky in the same area. He slid his bike under a 53 ft trailer. Paint and skin scratches.
